Intruder Alarms

Intruder alarms have become a cornerstone of modern security systems, prized for their ability to safeguard homes and businesses against unauthorised access and potential threats. By promptly detecting intrusions and alerting residents or authorities, these systems provide a crucial layer of defence, ensuring peace of mind and swift response in emergencies. Whether for residential or commercial use, intruder alarms serve as effective deterrents and proactive measures to safeguard property and occupants alike.

Intruder Alarms
An intruder alarm system offers unparalleled benefits, acting as the ultimate deterrent against unauthorised access and potential security breaches. Our systems provide peace of mind by significantly reducing the risk of burglary, vandalism, and other threats to your property. Our qualified engineers are experienced in supplying, installing, and maintaining bespoke alarm systems tailored to meet your unique requirements. We leverage the latest technology and high-quality components to create robust security solutions that offer comprehensive protection. From initial consultation to ongoing maintenance and servicing, we ensure your system is optimally configured and always operational, safeguarding your premises effectively and reliably.

Combining an intruder alarm system with 24/7 alarm monitoring significantly enhances property security by providing continuous surveillance and immediate response to any potential threats. While the alarm system acts as a deterrent and alerts occupants to intrusions, the constant monitoring ensures that any alerts are promptly addressed, whether the property is occupied or not. This combination not only deters criminals but also guarantees swift action in emergencies, offering an added layer of protection and peace of mind.

24/7 Monitoring
Upon receiving the alarm activation, our operatives will take the necessary action depending on the configuration of the system. For example, this could be a call to the key holder or Fire Brigade. A monitored system can be tailored to your requirements across any grade. We deliver an extensive range of signalling products and partner with industry-leading company CSL Dualcom.
What Makes Up An Intruder Alarm System?

Live External Sounder

A live external sounder is a visible and audible alarm device mounted outside your property. It emits a loud siren and flashes a strobe light when the alarm is triggered, alerting neighbours and acting as a strong deterrent to intruders.
Control Panel

Control panels are the central hub of your alarm system, managing all components and triggering alarms when necessary. Many include built-in keypads, allowing you to easily arm, disarm, and monitor the system from one device. They also display system status and manage user settings for seamless control of your security.

Keypads

A keypad is the main user interface for your intruder alarm system, typically installed near entry points for easy access. It allows you to arm and disarm the system using a secure code, and may also display system status, alerts, and fault messages. Keypads can either be integrated into the control panel or stand alone as seperate devices.
Supplementary Sounders

Supplementary sounders, like master blasters or internal sounders, are additional alarm devices designed to enhance the effectiveness of your security system. Master blasters are ideal for more remote or rural properties, as they emit an extremely loud 127dB siren when triggered, ensuring the alarm is heard over long distances. Their powerful sound acts as a strong deterrent to intruders. Internal sounders, on the other hand, are used within the property to alert anyone inside of a potential security breach. These sounders are typically less intense than external ones, but they ensure the alarm is heard throughout the building, prompting a quick response to the situation. Both types of sounders provide added layers of security, increasing your system’s effectiveness.

Detectors

Detectors like motion sensors and shock detectors are essential for identifying potential intruders. Motion detectors use infrared sensors to detect movement, while shock detectors sense vibrations from doors and windows. For pet owners, pet-friendly PIR detectors can ignore small animals, preventing false alarms. These devices can be tailored to your needs, providing reliable, customised security for your home.
Door/Window Contacts

Door and window contacts are key components of your security system, designed to monitor entry points. These sensors consist of two parts: a magnet and a contact switch, which are placed on the door or window and its frame. When the door or window is opened, the circuit is broken, triggering the alarm. They offer a simple yet effective way to safeguard your home’s most vulnerable access points, ensuring any attempt at forced entry is detected.

Why an I'm Covered 365 intruder alarm? We install live external sirens, not dummy ones, for a real deterrent. Our experienced engineers handle every installation with care, and with the option for 24/7 remote monitoring and 24/7 engineer support, your security is in expert hands around the clock.
-
How do intruder alarms work?Intruder alarm systems use a range of different contacts and sensors to detect movement or the opening of doors and windows on a property. When triggered, this system activates an alarm and, with 24/7 remote monitoring, a signal is then sent to a 24/7 monitoring station which is then verified in a matter of seconds before all key-holders are alerted and/or the authorities.
-
How much do intruder alarms cost?Intruder alarm systems can range in cost depending on multiple factors such as the size of the property, the technology that will be used, the monitoring and maintenance requirements etc. Our intruder alarm systems can be fully scaleable and completely tailored to your unique needs and/or property, so costs are normally calculated on a case-by-case basis with the exception of some of our package deals that have a set price (terms and conditions apply).
-
What are the benefits of 24/7 remote monitoring?24/7 remote intruder alarm monitoring ensures your property is protected around the clock, wherever you are. If an alarm is triggered, a signal will be sent straight away to a 24/7 monitoring station where the alarm can then be verified within seconds before the key-holders and/or authorities are alerted.

How do pet-friendly motion sensors/PIRs work?Pet-friendly motion sensors, also known as passive infrared (PIR) sensors, are designed to ignore the movement of pets by detecting body heat only above a certain threshold. They are calibrated to disregard changes in infrared energy at floor level for animals weighing up to 35 kg. This allows them to differentiate between the movement of pets and humans, minimising false alarms triggered by your pets while still providing effective security.
