What does a PPM visit include?
During a Swing/Sliding Gate PPM visit, our engineer will carry out the following:

Inspect structural state of gate supports, portals and foundations.

Inspect condition of gate/s.
-
Check gate alignment and ground clearance.
-
Inspect general condition of tracks, rollers, gate stops and other gate furniture, removing finger trap guards to inspect (if applicable).

Check manual release and locking performance.
-
Check if the failure of any one component will lead to a catastrophic failure Inspect cable ducts.
-
Clean out foundation boxes and check drainage.
-
Check limit switches.
-
Check operator fittings and brackets.
-
Check condition and operation of control panel.
-
Check condition of motor/gate operator.
-
Visually check the condition of ground loop if installed.
-
Lubricate all moving parts.
-
Check gate operation in manual operation.
-
Bleed system and top-up oil if applicable.
-
Assess performance of operators and clutch settings.
-
Pressure test and adjustment (open and close).
-
Assess system usage levels: Low/Medium/High.

Assess Logic, Run, Pause, Leaf Delay and Over-run times.

Check electrical connections, terminations and protection.
-
Check access control, intercom, photocells, safety edges and other control equipment.
-
Check locks are working.
-
Check condition of operator wiring, trunking and conduit.
-
Clean wheels, track, rollers etc.
-
Check operation of gate in hold to run or fully automatic operation.

Change batteries on safety edge and photocell transmitters (if applicable).
-
Carry out force tests (if applicable).
-
Check, affix and date MOT service sticker.
-
Photos taken on completion inside & outside the gate and control box.

Check boom alignment and levels.

Inspect general condition of pedestal, boom, supports and baseplates.

Check manual release and locking performance.

Inspect cable ducts.
-
Check if the failure of any one component will lead to a catastrophic failure.

Clean out pedestal.
-
Check operator fittings and brackets.
-
Lubricate all moving parts.

Check protection of electrical connections to operator.
